The Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague is one of the largest, most advanced specialized cardiovascular centers in the Czech Republic, focusing on complex cardiology, heart surgery, and transplantation. According to Jan Kukla, pacemaker technician at IKEM, preparing in clinic follow ups used to be a labour intensive process. Retrieving device data from archives, gathering the necessary documentation, and later storing updated information correctly for future reference required significant time and effort.
Ensuring that all data was complete and accessible was essential, but without a centralized system this could become a demanding administrative task. In urgent situations, the need to quickly access programming settings and historical data made efficiency even more important.

Considerably more time and effort would be required to retrieve archived data, prepare follow ups, and maintain the same level of documentation quality. Today, the process is streamlined, structured, and dependable, allowing staff to focus more on patient care rather than administrative tasks.
